Covid-19 cases in West Midnapore dist of West Bengal remain low in the last two days

Midnapore, Jun10 : The rate of coronavirus infection remained low in West Midnapore district for the second day today with five new cases, three from Daspur and two from Keshpur, District Health authorities said. The most affected blocks are Daspur, Chandrakona and Keshpur where most migrant labourers have returned, said Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) of West Midnapore district, Dr Nimai Ch Mondal.

The total coronavirus affected persons in the district stand at 190 so far, he added. Meanwhile, 691 saliva samples collected on June 1 tested negative, he informed. Gopal Krishna Dhali, OSD of the State Health department, looking after the management of coronavirus treatment in the state, inspected the infrastructural details of Covid-19 facilities in the district today. He said two new coronavirus treatment hospitals will soon start functioning, one each in Salboni and Debra in West Midnapore District. (UNI)
