Midnapore, Jun 1 : West Midnapore District has spent more than Rs 100 Crores in the post-Amphan period with most of the amount being spent on wages, whereas in the previous years Rs 500-550 crores was spent on an average a year on 100 days job annually . Giving this information District Magistrate Reshmi Kamal said there will be no dearth of funds for the poor people.
Migratory labourers who are reaching the villages are also getting the facility, District Nodal Officer Biswajit Bhattacharya said . Following some relaxation in the Lockdown, Rs. 102crore 48 lac have been spent between April 20-May26. 1,50,764 families have created 32,16,007 mandays so far. New job cards are also being issued. The district occupies first place in this project so far and it is expected that the total budget amount between Rs 800-900 crores will be exceeded, Mr Bhattacharyya said. (UNI)
