Kolkata, May 26 : A special quarantine centre for suspected Covid patients, exclusively for aviation passengers, has been set up at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International airport with 400 beds capacity. It would be operational from next May 28, an official at Dum Dum airport said today.
The city's airport will be fully functional from June 1 next. Although many airlines have started their domestic flight services from May 25, but they keep off the Kolkata sky as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee requested them to start services from June 1 in the wake of the Covid situation in the state.
The 400-bed capacity quarantine centre at the airport would start operational from Thursday, exclusively for the air passengers, who may be suspected to be carrying coronavirus, said the official. The quarantine centre has been set up at the old terminal of the airport. (UNI)
