Kolkata, May 16: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday announced the State Government decision of bearing the entire cost of movement of its migrant workers by special trains from other states to West Bengal. Taking to her Twitter handle, Banerjee said, "Saluting the toil faced by our migrant brethren, I am pleased to announce the decision of GoWB to bear the entire cost of movement for our migrant workers by special trains from other states to West Bengal. No migrant will be charged, " she added.
A letter to the Railway Board has been dispatched in this regard, she informed. Earlier, the West Bengal Government said it was keen on welcoming back its people stranded in different countries and has long back communicated its agreement as well as quarantine arrangements details to the Centre for special international inbound journeys.(UNI)
