Kolkata, Apr 28: Another medic died of suspected pandemic at a private hospital in the city, the second such casualty in a span of three days after senior government physician died of Coronavirus positive in West Bengal, official sources said today.
Sixty-nine-year-old orthopaedic of reputed private hospital in south Kolkata, who was admitted to another private hospital at Salt lake in the city and was on ventilation support after being attacked by the pandemic, passed away on Monday night, sources added.
He was on ventilation support since April 17 after being admitted on April 14 with suspected coronavirus and other ailments to the hospital.
He was the resident of city's eastern part of Bondel Gate.
The Swastha Bhavan, the final government authority to determine if any one died of pandemic, was investigating the causes of death of the private medic.
Senor government medic Biplab Dasgupta, who was the additional director and was posted at the Central Medical Store, Moulali, in central part of the city, died of Corona positive early Saturday.
Meanwhile, asserting that "It's no time to sharpen knives against Governor or Central Government, " West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday said, " Real time look at the situation not bravado must for way forward. "
Taking to his Twitter handle, Mr Dhankhar said, " Our people must be our concern @MamataOfficial Focus on suffering not demagoguery. "
Stating that the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) was making studied headway catalyzing situation, the Governor said, " . No time to sharpen knives against Governor or Central Government. Real time look at the situation not bravado must for way forward." (UNI)
