Kolkata, Apr 17 : When reports of retrenchment, layoffs and salary cuts are pouring in from across the world amid lockdown triggered by coronavirus outbreak, India's major freight carrier Eastern Railway (ER) is recruiting medical professionals to strengthen its COVID-19 preparedness.
"ER has taken initiatives to strengthen the medical infrastructure as a part of COVID-19 preparedness," the Eastern Railway said in a statement today. For better monitoring of the patients in the emergent situation, Eastern Railway has already issued notification for engagement of contractual medical practitioners and para medical staff at different divisional hospitals as well as different workshop hospitals.
ER’s Malda division will hold a walk-in-interview at the chamber of Sr. Divisional Personnel Officer, Malda in the DRMOffice, Malda at 11 a.m. on April 21 for contractual engagement of 10 nursing staff, 3 pharmacists and 5 laboratory assistants, in its Railway Hospital /Health Units. (UNI)
