Kolkata, Apr 16: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday called for sternly dealing with violators of lockdown and failing/non performing officials.
"Covid Challenge suggestions to @MamataOfficial call for ACTION and not REACTION. These are constructive," Mr Dhankhar posted in Twitter.
"No time for criticism. Time to sternly deal with violators of Lockdown and failing/non performing officials, " the Governor stated.
"Lockdown 2 Guidelines have evoked +ve response. Give your 100%, " he noted.
Yesterday, Mr Dhankhar vouched for deploying central para-military forces to enforce lockdown across the state.
Mr Dhankhar said, "Lockdown protocol has to be thoroughly implemented to ward off Coronavirus. Police and administration of the @MamataOfficial failing to effect 100% # Social Distancing or curbing religious congregations be shown door."
"Lockdown must succeed-examine central para forces requisitioning," he opined.
According to a State Government Health Bulletin on Wednesday, the toll due to Covid-19 stood at seven, while active cases rose to 132 in Bengal. (UNI)
