Kolkata, Mar 20: West Bengal on Friday reported second Coronavirus case as a person with recent travel history to the UK tested positive, becoming the second confirmed case in the state, said government officials.
He was instantly admitted to state owned ID Hospital at Beliaghata.
The 22-year-old youth, a resident of Ballygunj in south Kolkata, who returned from London via New Delhi on March 13, was feeling sick from March 16 and got himself self-quarantined at home and finally got admitted himself to the hospital on March 17.
His swab tests were found positive today.
The swab sample tests done at the National Institute for Cholera and Enteric Diseases were found positive.
His family members have been kept in quarantine.
The youth who returned from London along with two other friends - one from Punjab and another from Chandigarh were also found COVID-19 positive from tests at NICED.
Earlier, an 18-year-old student studying at a prominent university in England, who flew back to the city late last week also tested positive for Coronavirus on Tuesday. (UNI)
