Kolkata, Feb 10: In 2021, the International Kolkata Book Fair will celebrate the centenary of 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman' and the focal theme would be Bangladesh.
From the closing ceremony dais, the same has been announced.
Ministers from Bangladesh and Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Taufiq Hassan also were present at the closing ceremony. Minister for Education Partha Chatterjee said that "Though it's a matter of foreign affairs till we would invite and like to have to invite Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to inaugurate the 45th Book Fair".
As a whole, the International Kolkata Book Fair finished on a high note. More than 3 lakh individuals visited the fair on the last day which took the absolute number of visitors to 25 lakh, whereas last year it was 23 lakh.
The sales have seen a leap to Rs 23 crore which was Rs 21 crore last year. (UNI)
