CPI(M) worker murdered in Nadia; wife alleges TMC hand

Krishnagar, Sep 08 : A CPI(M) activist was murdered on Saturday in Badkulla Dostina under Taherpur police station in Nadia district.

The victim has been identified as Babulal Biswas. His wife, Mausumi Biswas, has alleged that her husband was killed by Trinamool Congress supported criminals.
Biswas was an active CPI(M) worker and his wife was the CPI(M) candidate from Dostina area in the last Panchayat election.

According to family sources, last night after receiving a call at around 8pm, Mr Biswas had gone to Dostina market where he was allegedly surrounded by a group of men and shot from close range.

Despite being badly injured, he ran for 300 m and spotted a woman Nidhi Rani Das. He begged her for help. He was then rushed to the local Badkulla Dostina Primary Hospital and was later referred to Shaktinagar District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, sources added.

No one has been arrested in connection with the murder.Trinamool Congress has rejected involvement in the crime.After the incident, irate CPI(M) workers are holding a blockade on the Ranaghat-Krishnagar Highway since 9 am today.
