Two businessmen held for betting in Kolkata

Kolkata, June 6: The city police have arrested two businessmen from an office in central Kolkata while they were engaged in betting during India-South Africa World Cup play in England and sized cash over Rs 1 lakh and instruments used for gambling.

The detective officials of the Kolkata Police following a tip raided the office at R N Mukherjee Road in Dalhousie area on Wednesday evening and arrested Rabindra Pataudiya, a resident of Lake Town, and Neeraj Jain of New Alipur.

Police also seized cash over Rs 1 lakh, five cell phones and two computers, which were used during betting and gambling. Police in recent time has arrested nearly half-a-dozen people for cricket betting.
