Narada scam: CBI summons IPS officer SMH Mirza

Kolkata, June 6: The CBI probing the Narada sting operation scam has summoned IPS officer SMH Mirza asking him to appear before the investigating officials at Nizam Palace in the city on Thursday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the Saradha chit fund scam also stepped up it's finding on the accused of Narada sting operation, in which 12 politicians, including ministers, MPs and MLAs, all, ruling TMC and the IPS officer have been named in an FIR.

The Narada sting operation, which was carried out by journo Mathew Samuel targeted high-ranking officials and politicians of the All India Trinamool Congress. It showed several politicians and a high-ranked police officer accepting cash-bribes in exchange for providing unofficial favours to a company.

The CBI's fresh summon notice to the senior IPS happened after the probe agency got some new findings and sought to question Mirza once more. Another central agency Enforcement Directorate (ED), probing the money the trail has issued a notice to a former mayor of Kolkata Sovon Chatterjee's estrange wife Ratna Chattopadhyay, TMC Minister Sadhan Pandey's daughter  Shreya Pandey, Avijit Ganguly and Moloy Bhattacharya to appear between June
