Kolkata, May 20: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee‏ today said her " Maa Mati Manush " government's eight years in office since May 20, 2011, has been momentous in the history of West Bengal.
She said during the period Trinamool Congress government has worked for the welfare of people and pledged to turn Bengal into "Biswa Bangla".
" On May 20, 2011 the first Maa, Mati, Manush Government took oath of office, " Ms Banerjee said in her Twiiter account adding, " It has been eight momentous years during which we have worked for the welfare of people. Our pledge is to turn Bengal into Biswa Bangla (best in the world), " she remarked.
Earlier yesterday Ms Banerjee hit out at the BJP and central forces for "torturing" Bengal.
After exercising her franchise, Ms Banerjee lashed out at the BJP and central security forces for "torturing" West Bengal.
"I have never seen anything like this before," she commented.
Ms Banerjee also rubbished the Exit Poll, saying, " I don’t trust Exit Poll gossip. "
In a sharp reaction, she said, " The game plan is to manipulate or replace thousands of EVMs through this gossip. I appeal to all Opposition parties to be united, strong and bold. We will fight this battle together. "
" Have ‘Delhi media’ who masquerade as ‘national media’ lost their credentials and credibility? The so-called Exit Polls will only confuse. We await the verdict of the people. Modi ji had called the number 300+ even before Phase 7. Are these numbers to match that? EVM manipulation? " Ms Banerjee questioned. (UNI)
