Barasat, West Bengal, Mar 14 : Saradha Group ponzi scam prime accused Sudipta Sen on Thursday rued that everything in his life had ended and he was now waiting for death.

" Everything has ended and I am waiting for my death now, " the former chief of Saradha Group Sudipta Sen told reporters at Barasat Court in North 24 Parganas while being produced before the judicial process for further remand in jail custody.

“Death may come anytime now." When asked why he was thinking about his death, the incarcerated scamster said “My property in Saradha is finished and I will not survive anymore."

Sen, who looked vividly upset with moist eyes, however, preferred to keep mum when asked why he was lamenting now and why did this happen to him that he became a pauper from a billionaire.

Sen has been languishing in jail since his arrest at Gulmarg, J & K, on April 23 in 2013, by a team of SIT, along with his office staff Debjani Mukherjee.

Sen's repeated appeals to disburse money to his investors by selling Saradha Group's property have been ruled out.

The Saradha Group financial scandal was a major scam and alleged political scandal caused by the collapse of a Ponzi scheme run by Saradha Group, a consortium of over 200 private companies that was believed to be running collective investment schemes of around Rs 200 to 300 billion (US$4–6 billion) from over 1.7 million depositors before it collapsed in April 2013.
