Men from UP and Bengal arrested with fake notes worth Rs 7 lakh

Kolkata, Feb 28 : Two miscreants, one of them from Uttar Pradesh, have been arrested for possessing Rs 7 lakh fake notes of Indian currencies from this metropolis, police said today.

Man from UP Vikash Kumar Gautam and Rezzack Sheikh, a resident of Malda district in West Bengal, have been arrested from a place at Hare Street in central part of the city by the sleuths of Special Task Force of Kolkata Police following an input.

The STF laid an ambush on Wedneday evening and caught the duo, who had been carrying the fake notes of Rs 2000 denomination. The fake notes businesses, which had been reported from the border districts of West Bengal with Bangaladesh, specially in Malda and Murshidabad, even entered into this metropolis, the STF investigating the case said. The STF also wanted to know their motive of carrying the fake INR into this city. The duo would be produced before a local court here later today. (UNI)
