Kolkata, Feb 12: A major fire broke out at Northern Park in Dunlop, 9 km away from the city, this afternoon.

In all four fire tenders have been pressed into service to douse the blaze.

The cause of the fire was prima facie attributed to burst of gas cylinders.

Fire Brigade personnel are expecting to tame the raging fire within an hour.

Several shanties have been reduced to ashes.

No casualty has been reported so far.

Residents of several multi-storey apartments have been evacuated to safer places following the fire.

This was the third incident of fire within three days after Burrabazar and New Barrackpore. (UNI)
