Kolkata, Feb 7 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said Bengal means business, and perception of Bengal has now changed.
Addressing the 5th edition of Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), which began here, Ms Banerjee said,"None can match the talent and human capital of Bengal."
She said,"Bengal is marching ahead. We are the destination for businesses, farmers, unemployed youth." “We want Bengal to prosper. We want India to grow. We want every State to grow. We want to see a better tomorrow. This is our dream,” the chief minister said.
Ms Banerjee said more than Rs 10 lakh crore investment proposals were received in the previous editions of BGBS Summit, 50 per cent of which are under process
“Those who have left India, I request you to come back and invest here. I know you are facing difficulties. But after the government changes at Centre, I assure you we will have a better policy,” she said.
“I requested my German friends to set up automobile industry in Bengal. The delegation from Milan is investing in leather sector. Poland is investing in energy sector, the chief minister said.
“I have received invitations to visit Japan and Korea.” she said. A galaxy of industrialists, delegates, country representatives attended the summit. (UNI)
