Coach Educators take part in final phase of Kolkata Premier Skills course

Kolkata, Jan 10 : A week-long phase 3 course of Premier Skill coaching began on Thursday at the Netaji Subhash Eastern Centre in Salt Lake here with 18 men and women from across India, who will gain the skills and knowledge needed to qualify as Premier Skills Coach Educators.

The coaching programme is being run in partnership between the British Council, Premier League, Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Led by Premier Skills coach educators Jez Weeks and Paul Hughes, the

course will enable the 18 men and women taking part to successfully run their own

training courses for coaches in their own communities.

Avinash Kharel, who comes from Guwahati, is one of the coaches taking part said,

“Coaching is totally different from playing football as it focuses on the team and not

the individual.

Thanks to Premier Skills I now realise that football also has a binding

energy which can create unity in communities. (UNI)
