QUIZ-Identify the country where this attire belongs.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens better known as Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835 in Florida two weeks after Halley’s Comet appeared closest to the Earth. He was one of seven children and lost his father when he was 11 years old. Several of his siblings died early too. After his father’s death he quit school and became a printer’s apprentice with the Hannibal Journal. He worked there for 6 years supporting his family and also contributing articles and sketches. He later worked as a printer and then as a steamboat pilot as he was fascinated by river boating. He continued with his writings and took up the pen name of Mark Twain; other pseudonyms he used were Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass, Sergeant Fathom and Rambler. His first book, The Innocents Abroad, was published in 1869. Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn remain his most popular works. He wrote a total of 28 books, articles, essays and short stories.

As predicted by him, he died on April 21, 1910, the day after Halley’s Comet made its closest pass.

Ernest Hemingway said of Mark Twain: ‘All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn.’
