Madame Marie Curie

Marie Curie was a Polish and naturalized French physicist and chemist who did pioneering research on radio activity. She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize; she was the first person to win the Nobel Prize twice; she was the only person to win the Nobel Prize in two different scientific details: Physics and Chemistry. She discovered Radium and Polonium.

She was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1867. She died at Sancellomoz in 1934 of Aplastic anemia from exposure to radiation. She studied at the University of Paris.

She had two daughters, Irene and Eve. Irene Curie was a scientist two and went on to win the Nobel Prize in chemistry jointly with her husband in 1935. This made Curies the family with the most Nobel laureates.

Eve Curie was a journalist and wrote Marie Curie ‘s biography.
