Do you know?

Blood Falls, Antarctica

This Waterfall is an out flow of an iron oxide tainted plume of salt water flowing from the tongue of Taylor Glazier on to the ice-covered West Lake Bonney in the Taylor Valley in Victoria Land, East Antarctica. The deep red falls were discovered in 1911 when scientists noticed a river had stained the surrounding cliff of ice with dark red colour.

Pink Lake Hillier, Australia

This Lake has a surreal pink colour. It is a saline lake on the edge of Middle Island, the largest of the islands and islets that make up the Recherche Archipelago in the Goldfields-Esperance region off the South Coast of Western Australia. The Lake’s vibrant colour is due to the presence of salts and the organism Dunaliella Salina. However for the past decade or so the Lake is not pink possibly because the salt concentration has decreased. There is every possibility of the Lake turning pink once again.
