Uttarakhand reports 59 nCoV infections, caseload 1,145

Dehradun, Jun 4 : Uttarakhand on Thursday registered 59 coronavirus cases and one death, taking the count in the state to 1,145 and fatalities to ten. Of the fresh cases, 34 surfaced in Dehradun, ten each in Nainital and Tehri, four in Pauri and one in Uttarkashi, a health bulletin said.

A 26-year-old youth, resident of Muzaffarnagar, who was under treatment at AIIMS, Rishikesh, succumbed to the sinister virus. AIIMS Nodal Officer Madhur Uniyal said the youth was hospitalised on June 2 with high fever and breathing problems.

He was shifted to ICU after he tested positive for the contagion, where he died.

A 25-year-old woman, who was admitted to hospital on June 1 with other ailments and tested positive for the contagion, breathed her last on Wednesday.

In the last 24 hours, 133 people have been screened in the medical facility, two coronavirus patients have been admitted while four have recovered. (UNI)
