Ambala, May 13 : Over a dozen migrant labourers travelling in the Uttarakhand Roadways bus were injured when the bus overturned on reaching the Shambhu Toll Plaza here on Wednesday morning. According to sources, the bus had reached the toll booth at around 0700 hrs in the morning and met with the accident. The bus was on its way to Punjab from Uttrakhand.
It went upside down after the driver applied brakes. The toll plaza staff on duty were pulling out the injured from the bus. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and sent the injured to the nearby hospital with the help of locals. The driver had no permit to ferry the labourers, police said. Eye witnesses stated that the conductor who was driving the bus slept at the time of accident.
He sustained multiple injuries and was being treated at the civil hospital. The police registered a case against the driver and impounded the bus. (UNI)
