Bagaha, Jun 6 : An FIR has been registered against a 73-year old man and his son for deliberately spreading Coronavirus infection. Circle Officer (CO) of Madhubani Circle Ranjit Kumar had lodged an FIR at Dhanha police station against a 73 year old man and his son, resident of Madhua village for their irresponsible behaviour and deliberately spreading Coronavirus infection, despite being alerted by local administration in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

In the FIR, it was alleged that both father and his son were returning to their native village from Mumbai when they were detained by local administration at Padrauna, the district headquarters of Kushinagar district in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. The swab samples were taken of father and son and sent for laboratory testing while they were lodged at a quarantine centre after registration.

But they sneaked out from the quarantine centre and reached their native village Madhua and started interacting with villagers and relatives freely. When their swab sample test was found positive, Kushinagar district administration informed their West Champaran counterparts. After that, an FIR was lodged against the father-son duo who were traced in Madhua village.

CO Mr Kumar said that the behaviour of father and son was irresponsible as not only did they manage to escape from the quarantine centre in Kushinagar but also did not inform the authorities concerned after they arrived in Madhua village.

Family members of the affected persons have been sent to the quarantine centre created at Madhubani block headquarter. Father and son have been sent to Covid dedicated hospital in Bettiah. (UNI)
