nCoV: 11 new cases in UP's Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot, Jun 4 : With 11 more people testing positive, the total number of patients affected by the novel coronavirus increased to 53 in this Uttar Pradesh district on Thursday. Eleven people, including a former CMS of the district and a ward boy, have tested positive.

Earlier, two patients had succumbed to the infection, although they had come from outside and had died as soon as they arrived. Among the fresh cases, nine are migrant workers while two are from the health department. Chief Medical Officer Vinod Kumar Yadav said that now, there are a total of 53 cases in the district. Nine patients are from Kailha, Pahadi Bardwara, Shivral, Archa Barethi grams.

With the identification of 11 positive cases, District Magistrate (DM) Sheshmani Pandey and Superintendent of Police (SP) Ankit Mittal are taking stock of the situation after visiting the hotspots and affected villages. (UNI)
