Gonda, Jun 1 : Two constables of the Government Railway Police (GRP) tested positive for the novel coronavirus at a railway station in this Uttar Pradesh district, Chief Medical Officer said on Monday. With the two new cases, the total number of COVID-19 patients in the district has increased to 65. 48 patients had recovered earlier and were discharged and now there are 27 active patients in Gonda.
CMO Dr Madhu Gairola here said that as per the 17 reports obtained from the lab, two GRP constables tested positive. He said that both of them were residing in the government residence of the railway colony. Other people residing nearby in the colony have been quarantined. All the residences are being sanitized in the colony. He said that the two constables may have come in contact with the migrants who are coming from outside, however, information regarding their travel history is being analysed. (UNI)
