Lucknow, May 31 : Uttar Pradesh is fast strengthening its health infrastructure to fight the COVID-19 pandemic as it aims to become the first state in the country to have one lakh dedicated Covid-19 isolation beds by June 20. As of today, the state is conducting up to 10,000 tests in a day with a target to double per day testing within the next 20 days.
It is noteworthy that Uttar Pradesh was carrying out just about 50 Covid-19 tests in a day in the month of March. This was stated by the chief minister Yogi Adityanath during his regular team meeting here on Sunday . "The state has now a total of over one lakh beds at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 dedicated Covid19 hospitals in all the 75 districts in the state .
The state has L1 and L2 in all the 75 districts where Covid-19 patients are treated while there are 25, L3 specialised hospitals to treat the critical patients, " informed officials. Officials confirmed that in the L1 hospitals there are arrangements of oxygen while in L2 hospitals there are oxygen as well as some ventilators. But in L3 super speciality hospitals are equipped with ventilators as well as with other facilities like ICU and dialysis to treat critical patients.
During the meeting the CM reviewed the health facilities in view of over 25 lakh migrant workers and their families returning back to the state. MORE (UNI)
