Lucknow, May 14 : Within 24 hours of the Centre announcing a special financial package for MSME sector, Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday approved Rs 2002 crore loan to 56,754 entrepreneurs in the state. UP has become the first state to give loans to the MSME sector in such a fast mode in the country.
The entire loan amount was transferred to the entrepreneurs' bank account in one installment during the Mega Sangam Online Loan Mela here which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Officials here said that it was for the first time that 56,754 MSME entrepreneurs were given Rs 2002 crore loan at a click for their units. The loan of Rs 2002 crore would ensure additional job to over 2 lakh people in the state.The loan mela will continue till May 20.
On the occasion, the CM also launched the Saathi portal of the MSME to start the single window for the entrepreneurs in the state. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Adityanath said the state will now turn the table to make the migrant workers a new strength of the state. " Earlier people used to blame the governments for the migration of workers and labourers from the state but now these migrant workers would be the main strength of the state," the CM said, adding that now UP government was scaling the skill power of the migrant workers and they will be given jobs as per the skill. "This Diwali, we want the people of the country to worship Laxmi-Ganesh idols made in UP rather than going for Chinese made. The terracotta artisans of Gorakhpur have better skill to make Laxmi-Ganesh than the Chinese, " he stated. (UNI)
