COVID-19: Death toll rises to 79, 163 fresh cases in UP

Lucknow ,May 10 : With 163 fresh cases of COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, the total cases in the state reached 3,467 and the death toll increased by five to 79, with two deaths registered in Meerut and three in Agra. According to a health department report, as many as 1,653 patients have recovered including 154 on Sunday and the total number of active patients stands at 1,735. Now total 72 districts have been affected with Coronavirus and Sonebhadra became the new district with one positive case.

The report said that deaths were reported one each at Amroha, Prayagraj, Etah, Basti, Mainpuri, Shravasti, Bareilly, Kanpur Dehat, Varanasi, Bulandshahar and Lucknow ,13 in Meerut, seven in Moradabad, four in Firozabad, two in Jhansi, two in Gautam Buddha Nagar, two in Ghaziabad , three in Aligarh, 24 in Agra, six in Kanpur and four in Mathura.

The report further said that during the past 24 hours, 13 new cases were reported in Agra, five in Lucknow, six in Ghaziabad, 15 in GB Nagar , two in Kanpur, nine in Moradabad, 22 in Meerut, one in Varanasi, seven in Kanpur, eight in Bulandshahr, two in Firozabad, two in Banda, three in Mirzapur, two in Mathura, three in Kasganj, three in Shravasti, two in Bahraich, five in Jhansi and one each in Basti, Pratapgarh, Saharanpur, Rae Bareli Bijnor,, Sambhal, Unnao, Gonda, Etah, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Amethi, Fatehpur,Sonebhadra and Farrukhabad.

Of the total number of 3,467 cases in the state, 756 were reported in Agra, 250 in Lucknow, 141 in Ghaziabad, 226 in Gautam Buddha Nagar , 4 in Lakhimpur Kheri, 301 in Kanpur , 4 in Pilibhit , 126 in Morababad , 83 in Varanasi, 31 in Shamli , 9 in Jaunpur , 21 in Baghat, 242 in Meerut, 11 in Bareilly, 69 in Bulandshahr ,38 in Basti, 56 in Hapur, 7 in Ghazipur, 9 in Azamgarh , 193 in Ferozabad, 2 in Hardoi, 12 in Pratapgarh, 204 in Saharanpur, one in Shahjahanpur, 20 in Banda, 7 in Maharajganj , 9 in Hatras, 7 in Mirzapur, 48 in Rae Bareli, 13 in Auriyya ,2 in Kaushambi, 2 in Barabanki ,43 in Bijnore, 22 in Sitapur, 18 in Prayagraj, 54 in Mathura , 17 in Badaun, 28 in Rampur, 26 in Muzaffarnagar , 3 in Bhadoi, 5 in Unnao, 6 in Kasganj, 3 in Etawah, 28 in Sambhal , 30 in Sant Kabir Nagar, 12 in Mainpuri, 8 in Kannauj , 12 in Gonda, one in Mau, 11 in Etah ,5 in Sultanpur , 55 in Aligarh, 12 in Shrawasti, 24 in Bahriach , 2 in Balrampur, 2 in Ayodhya, 30 in Jalaun, 25 in Jhansi, 4 in Gorakhpur, 3 in Kanpur Dehat, 20 in Sidharthnagar, 3 in Deoria, 2 in Mahoba , 6 in Amethi, 3 in Kushinagar, 6 in Chatrakoot, 3 in Fatehpur, one in Hamirpur, One in Lalitpur, 2 in Farrukhabad, one in Sonebhadra and 33 in Amroha.

The reports stated that cumulative number of Passengers under observation as on today was 1,93,991 ,total number of symptomatic travelers identified in UP till date was 45,332 and number of symptomatic travelers hospitalised till date was 1830. It further said that the number of people under institutional quarantine was 8,952 and total number of travelers who have completed 28 days observation period was 1,05,218.

Total number of samples sent for testing was 1,29,955 in which 3,467 were found positive while 1,25,696 were negative and 792 were awaited. The health department said that total areas surveyed for containment activity was 66,929 while 611 areas were checked. Altogether 56,52,128 households were surveyed of Covid 19 in the state do far involving a population of 2,81,08,871. Till date 2,99,671 travelers from corona affected countries and different states have been identified and tracked by District Surveillance Units, WHO-NPSP teams and supervisors of RNTCP . Around 1,92,261 travelers being tracked were under home isolation. At least 11,839 contacts of various positive cases were also being tracked and were in fine health, the report added. (UNI)
