Lucknow, May 5: Uttar Pradesh after evacuating migrant workers from different states, is now gearing up to evacuate foreign migrants from other countries, who are likely to be airlifted by the External Affairs ministry in the coming days.
The state government has identified Lucknow and Varanasi airports as the two places where the migrant foreign workers and families would be brought from other countries and then would be sent to their respective home districts, informed state Additional Chief Secretary Awnish Awasthi here on Tuesday.
He said that the external affairs ministry would decide the number of days of quarantine of these foreign migrant workers. On the other hand, state government has said that till date 63,952 migrant labourers have reached UP by train and buses from other states. Migrant workers have already reached the state in 10 special trains at different places while six more trains will reach today.(UNI)
