DM to take call on relaxation of lockdown in UP from Monday:Yogi

Lucknow, Apr 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday authorised district magistrates to take call on giving relaxations in lockdown from Monday depending upon the ground reality and inform the state government but said special precautions need to be taken in 19 districts which have reported 10 or more corona positive cases.

'No relaxation would be given in those areas which come under hotspot. Only sanitation, health and delivery boys are allowed in this region. Strictness will continue in this red zone till lockdown,' Mr Adityanath said while giving direction during video-conferencing meeting with District Magistrates here. Some selected sectors would open from Monday to speed up economic activity but norms of social distancing would be enforced in a strict manner.

The CM further said that about industrial relaxation district magistrate, SSP, DIG and officials from industry department should have a meeting and decide what kind of industry could open. There should not be crowding violating the spirit of social distancing. He stated works should start for construction of expressways, state highways, housing societies, medical colleges and roads. Daily wagers would benefit from this conditional approval, but they would have to strictly follow social distancing and other conditions suggested by the government.

Mr Adityanath further stated that considering on-going harvest season government has created procurement centers across the state to buy crops from the farmers. Wheat purchase has already started at all the centers. 'Instructions have been given to follow social distancing in the mandis. Farmers should not face any problem in bringing the crops to the mandis' he said. Chief Minister directed the DMs to make arrangements to send people who had come from other cities and were sent to quarantine.

'Medical check up of those people should be ensured who are sent to home after completing 14-days institutional quarantine. Also, the person should be given food grain packet compulsorily' he further directed. He revealed that 'Around 8000 students from Kota have returned to UP. They should also be set to compulsory quarantine in their homes, The CM urged that in view of coming month of Ramzan religious leaders should ask people to offer prayers at their homes only. He emphasised on more testing of the suspects and full protection to Corona medical staff through PPE kits, N-95 masks and other equipment. "The emergency services in selected hospitals would also commence from Monday but only if they gave adequate numbers of PPE and N95 kits ," he added. (UNI)
