COVID-19: 135 new cases in UP, 6 dead, 623 affected

Lucknow, Apr 14: With 135 new cases reported in Uttar Pradesh, the total number of cases stand at 623 on Tuesday. Chief Medical Officer(CMO) MC Garg said that death toll has also increased to six when a 49 year-old died of the infection in Moradabad at TMU Hospital on Monday night. Earlier five deaths were reported, one each from Basti, Meerut, Varanasi, Agra and Bulandshahr.

Official sources here on Tuesday morning said out of the new 135 cases, 70 were the people who attended the Tabligli Jamaat conference and their total in the state has gone up to 358. Among the new cases, a three month old infant was affected in Noida. The number of discharged patients also grew up by two to a total of 49 in the state. He said 17 people including a 39-year-old doctor who was treating the patient have tested positive.

Of the fresh cases, two were residents of Sambhal and one of Amroha. Meanwhile, the district wise new cases detected in the state on Monday are 35 in Agra, 24 in Saharanpur, 17 in Moradabad, seven in Baghpat, nine in Lucknow, 18 in Gautam Buddha Nagar, three each in Kasganj, Meerut , Bijnore ,Hapur, Shamli, two each in Muzaffarnagar and Bulandshahr, one each in Etawah ,Mathura and Basti.
