Lucknow, Apr 3: Issuing strict warning against those violating lockdown, attacking police and medical staff, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday asserted that the deadly Coronavirus would meet the same fate as encephalitis in the state.
The UP government also launched Covid Care Fund, first of it's kind in the country. "We have received reports of misconduct of some people in Ghaziabad against the medical staff and attack on policemen in some other areas areas. Such occurrences will not be tolerated at any cost. These people should be taught to follow law at any cost," he said.
The government is expected to book the people of Jamat under NSA in Ghaziabad for making indecent remarks against the nurses.
Urging the people to unite and fight against the pandemic, he said, "The state will certainly emerge victorious against Coronavirus like encephalitis has been defeated in the state ".
The CM made these statements while transferring the pension amount of the social welfare department to the beneficiaries here on Friday. A total of 87,71,781 beneficiaries have been given Rs 871.48 crores through DBT. Of these beneficiaries, 49,87,054 were given old age pension of Rs 498.71 crore, 26,06 ,213 destitute women of Rs 260.63 crore, 10,67 786 divyangs of Rs 106.78 crore and 10,728 leprosy patients of Rs 5.38 crore.
During the brief function held at the CM residence, Mr Adityanath also interacted with some of the beneficiaries and took their response on the government benefits.
On the occasion, state primary Education Minister Satish Dwivedi handed over a cheque for Rs 76,14,55,000 , contributed by the primary school teachers and employees, the first contribution for the Covid Care Fund set up by the government.
The CM said the government was working to strengthen the infrastructure and health immunity of the 23 crore population of the state and this Covid Care Fund would be useful for it.
Yogi Adityanath was also furious on escaping of quarantine people from the hospitals and other places. " The DMs and SPs should be held responsible for such incidents as such an act is a threat to the society, " the CM said.
While reviewing the supply of essentials and other facilities to the people particularly to the poor and daily wage workers, the CM instructed that food grain vehicles should be give permission to ply without any disturbances while all government benefits should reach to the poor.(UNI)
