COVID-19: No fresh case; situation under control, says UP CM

Lucknow, Mar 23: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the situation of spread of Coronavirus in the state is under control and on Monday not a single positive case has been reported in the state. At present, there are 31 positive COVID-19 cases in which 11 have recovered and returned to their homes.

The rest were stable and recovering. Making a statement before the media here on Monday, the CM said that he himself was monitoring the situation round the clock and today there are 3 meetings slated in the evening. CM also said that he will have a meeting with the traders and medicine wholesalers on Tuesday through video conferencing and see whether home delivery is possible for vegetables and medicines.

“We have over 4500 PVR vans. If we get support from traders we can go for home delivery of vegetables and medicines, to the people so that they venture less on the roads” he said. He again re-iterated that people coming from other states should self-isolate themselves and in case of emergency should immediately contact 112, 102 or 108 emergency numbers.

The CM said 16 districts are locked down till March 25 where sanitizing works are underway in war footing. All bus services have been suspended and only essential services are open. Meanwhile, following reports of violation of lockdown in several districts Chief Minister has asked people to follow the guidelines in letter and spirit and help police in maintaining law and order otherwise administration will act tough on the violators. "You should save yourself and family by staying inside your house and follow the rules and regulations of the government to fight the coronavirus pandemic. The lockdown has been announced in your favour," the CM said in a tweet on Monday.(UNI)
