Couple who returned from Germany admitted in isolation ward in UP

Etawah, Mar 18 : An IT engineer couple, who returned from Germany and complained of cough and cold have been admitted to the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar hospital here amid possibilities of them being infected with Novel Coronavirus, official sources said on Wednesday.

District Magistrate J B Singh here said that when the information regarding the couple, who returned from Germany on March 6, complaining of cough and cold was given to the CMO, an ambulance was sent from the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar hospital and the couple was admitted to an isolation ward on Tuesday.

A team of doctors started the testing of their blood samples which were sent to Lucknow. Mr Singh said that the CMO has been directed to conduct a precautionary test of all those people who came in contact with the couple after March 6. CMO SS Bhadauria said that apart from a doctor and a ward boy, a sweeper has been posted in the isolation ward. He said that several other wards have also been made and if anyone else faces the same problem, they can also be admitted here. He said that the couple will be kept in the isolation ward till their full test report is not received. (UNI)
