Etawah, Mar 10 : The three year long dispute within the Yadav family of Uttar Pradesh seems to have ended on the festival of Holi here on Tuesday , when Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and his rival uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, wished each other and Akhilesh even touched his uncle's feet.
After almost three years, this Holi was an occasion when the entire Yadav family came together on one platform to celebrate the festival at their native place Saifai. Shivpal, who has formed a new political outfit Pragatasheel Samajwadi Party Lohia(PSPL), touched the feet of his elder brother Mulayam Singh Yadav and then wished others including Akhilesh.
The members of the extended Yadav family played Holi with flowers this year in view of the coronavirus threat . In view of the sudden change of relations between Akhilesh and Shivpal, SP supporters raised slogans of Jai Akhilesh-Jai Shivpal. This was not to Akhilesh's liking who warned the people that if they continue to raise such slogans then next time he will not come here to celebrate Holi. Earlier Shivpal had announced that in the 2022 assembly polls his party will ally with the SP . In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Shivpal contested from the Ferozabad seat which led to the defeat of his nephew Akshay, son of Prof Ram Gopal Yadav at the hands of the BJP.
Mulayam-Akhilesh along with their families, Shivpal and his son Aditya, Prof Ramgopal Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Tej Pratap, Abhishek Yadav, Akshay Yadav and other SP leaders were present at Saifai to celebrate holi. (UNI)
