Agra, Mar 3 : Six suspected cases of novel coronavirus were reported from this district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. According to the sources, 13 people were tested for the virus at the district hospital in Agra. The test results had been sent to Lucknow out of which six have been suspected to be affected. All the patients have been sent to New Delhi.
The other seven members of the family have been kept in isolation care at their home itself. The samples of 15 other people who came in contact with the aforementioned have been sent for testing, the sources said. As a precautionary measure, the samples of all the patients have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune. After receiving information about the same, Director General of the Health Department in Delhi Sujit Singh has reached Agra along with a team.
A meeting was held by District Magistrate Prabhu N Singh with the CMO and other officials of the health department. 100 beds in SN Medical College, 50 in the district hospital, six at the railway hospital, 50 beds at the Air Force hospital, and 50 beds at the Army Hospital have been directed to be kept ready for an isolation ward.
