Lucknow, Jan 11 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday inaugurated ‘Hunar Haat’ programme at Awadh Shilp Gram here. Through the medium of ‘Hunar Haat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new platform to traditional craftsmen, artisans, entrepreneurs across the country who have lost their skills, Mr Adityanath said. The central government organizes ‘Hunar Haat’ to promote craftsmen and artists. It is organized by the Union Ministry of Minority under the Ustad Yojana.
The Chief Minister said that the government started the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana to encourage traditional artisans. Under this scheme, the government is providing tool kits to artisans. Along with this, they are trained and given certificates by the Department of Industries, so that they can start their work easily, said the CM.
"This scheme has been implemented for the promotion of local and traditional artisans of urban and rural areas. The scheme strengthens the source of income of tailors, carpenters, hawkers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, basket weavers, cobbler masons and handicraftsmen," he said. (UNI)
