New Delhi, Jan 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday condoled the deaths in over the road accident at Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh and wished fast recovery to the injured.
'It is very sad to know about the horrific road accident in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. Many people lost their lives in this accident. I express my condolences to the relatives of the dead and wish fast recovery to the injured,' he said in his tweet.
Home Minister Amit Shah also condoled the loss of lives in the incident.
'I am deeply saddened by the road accident in Kannauj. I express my condolences on this irreparable loss to those who lost their family and friends in this horrific accident and wish the injured fast recovery,' Mr Shah said.
Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also expressed sadness over loss of lives in the road accident.
At least ten people were killed and several others critically injured when a bus hit a truck in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday night.
The accident occurred on the GT Road near Chibramua, in which both vehicles turned into balls of fire after collision.
Ten passengers of the bus managed to escape and 21 were rescued by the local villagers and police. (UNI)
