Mayawati flays Priyanka over Kota infants' death

Agency News

Lucknow, Jan 11: Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) supremo Mayawati on Saturday flayed Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for having double standards, saying that while the party leaders are visiting Uttar Pradesh to shed crocodile tears, they are not visiting Kota where over 110 infants have died in past 35 days.

"Congress is not ready to wipe the tears of the mothers of the infants killed in Kota in Rajasthan, but raking up several issues in UP, which shows their double standard and vested political interest in UP. How can a mother herself do such?," she said in series of tweets without naming Ms Vadra.

Ms Mayawati said the leader (Ms Vadra), who was in Rajasthan to attend a private function on Friday, could have taken some time out to go to Kota to meet the family members of the Kota victims.

"But it seems that Congress do want to change itself and was engaged in vested politics which they are doing since independence," the BSP chief alleged, adding that the wrong policies of Congress government in Rajasthan led to the death of over 100 children in Kota.

Ms Mayawati said that BSP never indulge in double standard in politics like Congress and BJP due to which the entire country is facing violence and other tensions.(UNI)
