Lucknow, Jan 11: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with other senior party leaders, will hold rallies in the country for Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) awareness.
According to party sources here on Saturday, the Chief Minister will be holding a rally in Madhya Pradesh today while on January 14, he will be in Gaya in Bihar.
Similarly, six rallies have been planned in UP from January 18, starting from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Varanasi constituency.
On January 18, the rally will be in Varanasi, on January 19 in Gorakhpur, on January 20 in Lucknow, January 21 in Kanpur, January 22 in Meerut and lastly on January 23 in Agra.
Amid protest by the opposition and civil society members on the CAA , the Centre has notified the new citizenship law in the country on Friday.
According to the new law, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsi and Buddhists, who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan before December 31, 2014, would be given the citizenship of the country. (UNI)
