Lucknow, Jan 2: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Thursday hit out at Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for not visiting Kota in Rajasthan where around 100 infants have died.
In a tweet, the BSP supremo held Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held responsible for the tragedy. "It is just due to the Congress government's laxity that such a large number of children died in Kota," she said. She even questioned Ms Vadra as to why she is not visiting Kota, where Congress is in governance.
"It is unfortunate that a woman leader like Priyanka was mum on such serious issues. Would have been better had she met the mothers of the children in Kota like she did in UP," she commented. In another tweet, Ms Mayawati alleged that if Ms Vadra does not go to Kota, it would mean that her visiting UP and meeting the victim's family was just a political drama for vested interest and the people of UP should be cautious by it. At least 100 children have died in Kota in last December. (UNI)
