Lucknow, Nov 14 : Employees of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) along with their family members on Thursday marched towards the power department headquarters demanding action against officials and to protect their Provident Fund, after the detection of an alleged PF scam.
The power employees have also announced to boycott their work for 48 hours from November 18 in support of their demand. The state capital witnessed an unique scene, when the children and women family members of the power employees led the march from Hydel guest house to Shakti Bhavan raising slogans of their demands including issuance of notification by the government to protect their General Pension Fund (GPF) and Central Provident Fund (CPF) and action against the erring chairman of the UPPCL.
During the gate meeting at the Shakti Bhawan, the protesting employees decided to hold a 48-hour work strike from November 18, if by then their demands were not met.
The employees also threatened to go on indefinite strike without any notice if action was taken against any employees over their ongoing protest and the entire responsibility will be of the government and the UPPCL management.UNI
