UPPCL scam : Akhilesh seeks probe by sitting judge of HC/SC

Lucknow, Nov 5: Samajwadi Party on Tuesday hit out at the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh over the alleged Rs 2300 crore scam by the UPPCL on investment of the GPF and CPF of the employees in the controversial DHFL, demanding 'resignation' of the chief minister.

“The CBI probe recommended by the UP government in hurry was an effort to cover up the issue through the senior officials and the Centre. We only demand a probe by a sitting judge of either Supreme Court or High Court in this issue," announced SP president Akhilesh Yadav here on Tuesday.

Mr Yadav, while attacking the CM, demanded that he should tender his resignation before attending the function to inaugurate the Medanta hospital in Lucknow, which was the brain child of the SP government.

" The present BJP government is in big problem as around 300 BJP MLAs are against the present CM Yogi Adityanath. On the other hand CM too was trying to scuttle some of his ministers and one had already been taken task of," he said in a hurriedly called press conference to reply on the charges leveled by the government over the scam.
