5,000 LPG cylinders recovered in UP, case registered

Balrampur, Aug 23: As many as 5,000 LPG cylinders, kept hidden in bushes in the Pachpedwa area of this district, were recovered and case registered against five people including the operator of the gas agency, the District Magistrate here said on Friday.  DM Karun Karunesh said that during raids in the Pachpedwa town in the past days, 5,000 kitchen gas cylinders were recovered and taking action into the matter, the cases registered against the operator of the Bhargav Gas Agency and four others.

A team under the leadership of SDM Tulsipur raided the location and after recovering 5,000 illegal cylinders, over 6,200 regulators and other materials, the gas agency was sealed. During the course of the investigation, it was also revealed that the beneficiaries were not provided the Ujjwala Yojana cylinders since two years. The DM said that the concerned gas companies will sent letter to cancel the license of the gas distributor. He also said that the fact that these cylinders were recovered from a region lying close to the border with Nepal is also being probed. UNI
