Prayagraj, Aug 19 : Four people were shot dead in two separate incidents in the Dhoomanganj and George Town areas of this districts in Uttar Pradesh, Superintendent of Police (City) Brijesh Srivastava said on Monday.
According to the SP, sweet vendor Balwant Yadav and had an altercation with Lalu Yadav (40) over a road, near Chauphatka on Sunday morning. The same night, Balwant's sons Sonal, Chandan, Surya Bhan and Vikrant shot one Lalu, Bhartiya (35) and Karan (15). While Lalu and Bhartiya died on the spot, Chakiya resident Karan succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
Mr Srivastava said that ten people, including the father-son, duo have been named in the report filed in the triple-murder incident and nine people have been taken into custody. The SP also said Dhoomanganj's ASI Tej Bahadur Singh has been suspended for negligence in the triple murder case.
In a separate incident, Sachin Sonkar (25), resident of Allahpur Kidwainagar in the George Town area had gone out with his friend Rajat on Sunday night. Meanwhile, unidentified assailants shot Sachin near Allahpur graveyard at around 2300 hrs. Sachin was rushed to the SRN hospital in a critical state where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The family of Sachin has filed a report against one Baccha Passi and Phulli. Police is on the lookout for the culprits. (UNI)
