Kushinagar, May 16: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said if his party comes to power at the Centre, then corruption would be completely wiped out from the government offices.Expressing his concern on the corruption prevailing in every government department, he said the Congress is committed to wiping out corruption.
At an election meeting in support of Congress candidate RPN Singh here, Gandhi said in India the youth want to set up industries like China and Japan. "But due to prevailing corruption,their investment gets exhausted while paying the bribes in the government departments." This should be stopped at any cost and Congress will do it, he said.
Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that the PM was only telling lies to the people. " We have worked in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and have waived off farmers' loans without any discrimination," he added.
The Congress president said that the PM and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a false assurance of running the Padrauna sugar mills in 100 days. "This chowkidar with 56 inch chest waived off Rs 5.55 lakh crore loan of the industrialists. Many of them also ran away with the money. I want to give this money to the poor," he said.Rahul said the economists have approved the NYAY scheme of the Congress promised in the elections in which the poor will be given Rs 72,000 per year.
“Modi went for demonetisation and GST without the advise from the economists leading to closure of shops and industrial units forcing job loss. But our NYAY scheme will generate jobs as a family would get Rs 12,000 per month which will help them to start their own business," he claimed.He also promised 22 lakh government jobs within a year of Congress coming to power while 10 lakh jobs would be generated in the panchayats.
