Maharajganj, May 16 : BJP national president Amit Shah on Thursday held BSP chief Mayawati and SP president Akhilesh Yadav responsible for the backwardness of Uttar Pradesh and Congress for the country.
"These parties only filled their pockets in the name of schemes for the poor, but did nothing for the society or the country," he said, with specific mention on Bua (Mayawati) and Babua (Akhilesh).
Addressing an election rally here, in support of BJP candidate Pankaj Choudhury, Mr Shah said the 'acche din' have returned in UP after the BJP government came to power and all the people without any disparity, were getting the benefit of government schemes.
He said a BJP government is must at the Centre, so that corruption do not return back in the country.
The BJP president said that the Centre has worked tirelessly for the entire five years, to benefit people on the ideology of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
'Around 26 lakh poor in UP have been given free health facility under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, besides work have been done on building roads, hospitals and schools, apart from providing drinking water to the people and jobs to the youth," he said.
Attacking the Congress, he said "Rahul baba is not giving any account of the 55 years of Congress rule, which had pulled the country backward, but they are asking us for the five-year rule."
He said people of the country will never forgive the Congress for its anti-people policies.
Mr Shah, mentioning local BJP MP Pankaj Choudhury, mentioned that he had done several works for his constituency.
Union Minister of State for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla, who was also present on the occasion, said that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can give a strong government at the Centre and all should support him, to make the country a developed nation.
BJP candidate Pankaj Choudhury said that BJP government has given benefit to the last person in the society and has written a new chapter in the development sector. (UNI)
