Lucknow, Feb 5: In an unprecedented decision, the Uttar Pradesh government has banned strike by the state government employees with immediate effect threatening to take strict action against employees or any employee association.
The government order was signed by Chief secretary Dr Anoop Chandra Pandey and later ratified by Governor Ram Naik.
The order says that some organisations have threatened to go on strike from February 6 demanding implementation of the old pension scheme.
Citing different sections of the employees service acts the order says that employees are bound to follow the orders in letter and in spirit. He will not take part or instigate any employee to take part in strike.
It further said that employees will not act in a way which will violate service rules. Further, the order also threatens to take strict action against employees.
The government employees are demanding restoration of pension scheme under which they were entitled for pension.(UNI)
