Prayagraj, Jan 10: Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik accompanied by the Union Minister of State for Cultural Affairs Dr Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the Kala Gram located at Arail Ghat in the Kumbh Mela area here on Thursday.
The Governor also inaugurated the 40-day long cultural event `Chalo Man Ganga Yamuna Teer' here. It may be pointed out here that the UP Governor Ram Naik landed at the Police Lines by helicopter at 12 noon. From here, he directly reached the Arail Ghat.
In addition to this, the UP Governor also unveiled exhibition of Allahabad museum temporary built at Kala Gram and Kumbh special Ticket of the museum on the occasion.
For the convenience of pilgrims and devotees coming from across the globe, Allahabad Museum had issued Kumbh Special Ticket. The speciality of this ticket is its three day’s long validity. This ticket could also be purchased from regular counter of the Allahabad museum during the 49 days long Kumbh mela. This was informed by the North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) director Indrajit Grover.
All the seven cultural zones have been provided with equal opportunity on the Cultural Centre stage between January 10 and February 28 to hold folk music programmes.
Just by the side of this stage, a huge Kala Gram has been developed on four acres of land where artisan from all over India will exhibit their rare skills of handicraft, handloom, folk art, and literature. All the seven cultural centres are contributing in this Kala Gram. Besides this the NCZCC will provide stage to artistes at its Shilp Gram. (UNI)
